BTS' impact is simply undeniable! The K-pop boy group, who earned global success with their hit song Blood, Sweat and Tears, were listed among the representative symbols of South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Taking to Instagram, RM reacted to BTS being recognized as a representative of South Korea alongside kimchi and hanbok during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics opening ceremony. For the unversed, Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish, while hanbok is Korea's traditional outfit. Being mentioned alongside these iconic symbols of the nation is a significant honor for BTS and highlights their global impact.

Sharing a screenshot of South Korea's parade at the ceremony, the BTS leader wrote, "bang kim han, let's get it." What does bang kim han mean? It's an abbreviation of the three notable things from South Korea. The Bang is for Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS), Kim stands for kimchi and Han from hanbok.

V also reacted to the mention. Sharing a pic of the opening ceremony, the Slow Dancing singer added 'ARMY' as a representative of South Korea with BTS.

BTS in the military

BTS' eldest member Jin was discharged from military after competing his 18 month long service. Meanwhile, the six other BTS members are currently completing their mandatory military service.

While J-hope is a drill instructor at a military boot camp, Suga is serving as a social service agent. The group will reunite as seven by June 2025.
