THE DAY OF THE JACKAL TEASER: A DISGUISED EDDIE REDMAYNE IS A HITMAN WITH A HEFTY PRICE TAG

The makers of The Day of the Jackal released a teaser for the Sky and Peacock show on the opening day of the Paris Olympics. The show, based on Frederick Forsyth's novel The Day of the Jackal, stars Eddie Redmayne as an assassin named Jackal who, according to its logline, "makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee." It also stars Lashana Lynch as a British intelligence officer who chases Jackal across Europe in a way that leads to a game of cat and mouse between them and plenty of destruction.

The teaser shows the titular character using prosthetics, taking aim to shoot his target down, and descending a building with a rope. At one point, a female voiceover asks, “Who exactly is this man?” and Jackal responds to her, saying, “You know who I am.”

Ronan Bennett is the writer of the show and Brian Kirk is its director. They also serve as executive producers, alongside Redmayne.

The cast also includes Ursula Corbero, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Florisa Kamara, and Sule Rimi.

The Day of the Jackal will premiere on Sky and Peacock in the UK and US, respectively, on November 7.
