FX’s latest comedy series, English Teacher, has made its debut this fall, promising a fresh and humorous take on the world of education. Created by and starring Brian Jordan Alvarez, the show premiered its first two episodes on Monday, September 2, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

His interactions with colleagues, including Gwen Sanders (Stephanie Koenig), a hopeful history teacher, and Markie Hillridge (Sean Patton), a PE teacher, form the crux of the show’s humor.
Evan’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Malcolm (Jordan Firstman) and a cast of eccentric staff members add further layers to the comedic narrative.

Jordan Firstman, recognized for his work on Big Mouth and Ms. Marvel, brings his experience as a writer and producer to his role.
Sean Patton and Carmen Christopher, both renowned for their stand-up comedy, feature as Markie Hillridge and Rick, respectively. Patton is currently on tour, while Christopher recently released a stand-up special and has appeared in The Bear. Enrico Colantoni, a veteran actor known for Galaxy Quest and Veronica Mars, rounds out the cast as Principal Grant Moretti.
