BRIDGERTON SEASON 4 BEGINS PRODUCTION WITH YERIN HA, LUKE THOMPSON. SEE PICS

The makers of Netflix's popular series Bridgerton have shared a glimpse of the new cast for season four and announced that the show is officially in production. Actor Yerin Ha has been cast opposite Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict Bridgerton in the series.

"Esteemed members of the Ton, it is with great joy that we inform you that Bridgerton Season 4 is officially in production!" the makers wrote, along with pictures of Luke and Yerin.

Yerin will portray the mysterious Lady in Silver, aka Sophie Baek, with whom Benedict falls in love. Speaking about the upcoming season, Luke Thompson told Netflix, "What's striking about Season 4 is that it's the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world."

The logline for Bridgerton Season 4 reads, "Season 4 turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down."

Other actors joining the cast for Season 4 include Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, and Isabella Wei. The show is currently being filmed on the newly constructed backlot at Shepperton Studios.

Set in Regency-era London, Bridgerton is based on the books by Julia Quinn, each focusing on a sibling of the Bridgerton family. The third season skipped the third book in Quinn's series about Benedict Bridgerton to focus on Colin and Penelope.

While all three seasons of Bridgerton are streaming on Netflix, the streamer has yet to announce the release date for the new season, which will consist of eight episodes.
