Pushpaka Vimana, the first unannounced Pan-Indian film

Addressing the time taken to direct a film, Upendra said, “Previously, a movie was made in 6 to 8 months. A song was shot in three days but nowadays, a song itself takes more than weeks for completion. Nowadays, everyone is a filmmaker and the challenge for a director is to outdo audience who are equipped with such technologies.”

About Pan-India projects affecting Kannada film industry, Real star feels otherwise.

“According to me Pushpaka Vimana was the first unannounced Pan-India film. It had no dialogues (silent). It appealed to all kinds of audience. Previously, filmmakers would make a film and then decide to dub or remake in other languages. The only difference, at present is that films are being dubbed and released simultaneously. And, they are called Pan India films,” he concludes.
